Magazine audiences, uses and gratifications theory
Target audiences
Mindmap:
Weekly magazines tend to have an audience that is more working class than middle class.
The quality monthly magazines ten to target a more middle-class audience. The paid for, magazines with the highest middle class readership are the monthlies Vogue, BBC good food, etc.
All these most popular weekly and monthly magazines have mostly female readerships. Magazines aimed at men are usually less successful.
Mojo readers
Mojo had a family small circulation of about 68,000 in 2016-17 and a readership of about 138,000.
Class:
- Mojo gains a similar share of middle class and working class readers.
Gender:
- Mojo is four times more likely to be read by men than by women
Age:
- The readership is adult
- There is a greater number of older raders then younger: nearly two thirds of them are over 35.
Mindmap:

Well this is disappointing...
ReplyDeleteYou haven't used the sheets provided to apply the Uses & Gratifications theory to MOJO magazine. I'm looking for a mindmap using text2mindmap. This needs to be completed.
Just to reiterate, when referring to the different texts we have studied, it won't help the examiner if you just say "Pink Floyd" magazine. You MUST refer to the exact publication.
Pink Floyd edition - MOJO 296 – July 2018: Pink Floyd 50
Sex Pistols edition - MOJO 286 / September 2017
Please respond to this comment so that I know you have understood. It may help to write these down in a new blog post.
