How can magazines be aimed at a range of audiences? (For example, MOJO is aimed at a range of audience e.g a more niche, older, predominantly male audience with an average age of 41) (5 marks) Most magazines use colour identity to attract their primary target audience. For example, MOJO uses a bright, 'trippy' effect which engages an older audience because it portrays the use of drugs in the 1960s and the effect it had. Furthermore, other magazines use different celebrities to attract different audiences. Target audiences Weekly magazines tend to have an audience that is more working class than middle class. The quality monthly magazines ten to target a more middle-class audience. Regulation Magazines, like newspapers, are self-regulated. Magazines may join IPSO or Impress – only Impress is Leveson-compliant. Revenue Magazines receive revenue from: -  circulation  (cover price - £5.25 for MOJO in 2017). in 2018 it is priced at £5.50. it has risen 25p. this could be because less people are buying it  and so the company need to make more money. -  advertising  (in MOJO, mostly live or recorded music, with some fashion advertising, some -  mass advertising - cross-promotion for other Bauer brands, such as empire - sponsored content and product placement, for example, 'Mojo listens to all its music on Roksan equipment'.
