How far do you agree that two videos you have studied are conventional for the genre?
From viewing little mix's music video 'black magic', it is evident to see many pop conventions. An example of this is the equal division of shots upon band members. This highlights the equality within the band and how there is not one main singer. This will reflect the strong bonds between the band which will portray a positive representation of them to the viewers.
In the vamps video 'Somebody To You' there are a lot of pop conventions conveyed. For example, the performance clips and band shots show the style of music they are trying to represent and this is pop. This is shown when they are on stage in the middle of the beach. The high angle shots and low angle shots within this part of the video show the bands importance but at the same time makes the audience feel superior at times to engage them more in the video.

ReplyDeleteAre there any images you could use to show these conventions? That will help with your revision.
ReplyDeleteAlso, you haven't properly answered the question. You have been asked to discuss two music videos, however there is only one briefly mentioned in your answer.
